Start date:

Overview

SDI Global Consult supported the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), for the Scientific Cooperation Program South Expert Plants Sustainable Development (SEP2D), a multi-donor initiative supporting African and South-East Asian public research actors working on different aspects of intertropical plant biodiversity. SDI contributed to define the framework and modalities of the service provided by BT3P, through a legal expertise on behalf of IRD, aiming at providing individual and collective support to 30 project leaders who were funded by SEP2D in order to bring their collaborations in line with the ABS context of the Nagoya protocol. This support has allowed the beneficiaries to be sensitized and to acquire knowledge on the legal stakes of their activities and the imperatives of implementation of the Nagoya Protocol. This proposal will be articulated with the service offer on commercial negotiation aspects also associated with the coaching of SEP2D project leaders, in order to provide them with all the essential elements for their future negotiations with potential partners.
